18 months ago I decided to weigh myself, something I hadn't done in months, and discovered that I weighed 196 pounds - 4 pounds shy of 200lbs! (I'm 5'9") I was completely shocked! And I was no longer able to be in denial...I was, plain and simple - very overweight! I had NEVER been to a gym before. I was self conscious about my size (especially in work out clothes!), and thought working with a trainer was for pampered and wealthy housewives. But a good friend who was already weight training with Chris Cosich convinced me to come with her one day. And I decided to "take the plunge". At first I was a little intimidated in the gym setting and working with a trainer who is obvioiusly super fit. I felt very insecure about being so large and out of shape. But I wanted to get healthy and I liked Chris's approach and I have been working with him ever since. He never made me feel awkward. He is fun to work with...tough but kind, and very professional..and works at getting you stronger, leaner and more toned with a combination of weight training work outs that benefit your legs, arms, back and abs - tailor made to your level of conditioning...pushing gently to go to the next level. He also gives great nutritional advice and keeps me "honest" about doing cardio exercise at least 3 times a week and about what I eat. With his input and guidance I have modified my diet amd have made an effort to eat the right things 5 or 6 times a day to keep my blood sugar levels constant...which is almost as important as the weight training. I decided to go about this weight loss and strength training slowly - so to make sure that the whole effort would become part of my daily routine - forever. It has done wonders for me - not only in terms of weight loss - over 30 pounds now and continuing to lose (hoping to get to 150lbs and then maintain) - but also for how I FEEL...healthy, vigorous, energized, sexy and self confident. Working with Chris has changed my life. I wouild recommend the experience to anyone.
